“Doctor” Johnny Fever: This is SHOTS FIRED! I’m the Doctor, Johnny Fever and as always, with me is a man who is too sweet to be sour, Mr. Venus Flytrap!
Venus Flytrap: You’ve got that right Doc! Not that you can tell from all the HATE mail I have been receiving this season! Apparently, some people are mad about the things I’ve been saying!
“Doctor” Johnny Fever: Well, I’m sure we are going to get to that, but first, let’s talk about one of the most thrilling games of the season when The Q came to Cincy and it all came down to overtime. This game had drama and it left Cincy and Mexico fans on the edge of their seats. It was a battle of Defense in the first half, with The Q winning out, blanking Cincy’s Offense in the first half.
Venus Flytrap: Okay, I know I am going to get dragged for this, but numbers don’t lie! Cincy couldn’t even get into field goal range for two entire quarters! I know, Coach Raheem called Angie an ‘elite’ quarterback at the postgame conference, but she wasn’t playing like one and anyone who thought she was is an idiot!
“Doctor” Johnny Fever: Maybe I’m an idiot then! Yes, The Q held Cincy scoreless in the first half, but look at the way she protected the ball; no turn overs and 371 yards passing. The ground game was shut down and Vaughn aired it out.
Venus Flytrap: Look…I’m not going to go hard because a win is a win, but please just STOP telling everyone how great Angie is! She threw for almost 400 yards, but damn near half of them weren’t caught. If they were all aimed at Roxy, she would have had 600 or even 700 yards!
“Doctor” Johnny Fever: Now you are talking crazy! ANYWAY! In the second half things looked rocky early and The Hit Girls didn’t taste the endzone until…
Venus Flytrap: Roxy tied the game late in the fourth quarter! You can say it…she’s the hero we all deserve!
“Doctor” Johnny Fever: Fine, but let’s not brush off the fact that part of the reason the tide turned was a huge penalty when Dixon took a helmet to helmet shot as she was getting things going. A lot of people as saying that this rallied the entire team.
Venus Flytrap: No, it allowed Angie to focus on our number 1 receiver and finally we got a score! To be honest, everyone should clearly see that Dix is just a distraction and this game wouldn’t have even been close if Dix had been knocked out earlier!
“Doctor” Johnny Fever: You’d better hope she never finds herself in a room with you!
Venus Flytrap: Oh, we are going to talk about that, but let’s finish up here!
“Doctor” Johnny Fever: Overtime was just as competitive with Cincy and The Q trading field goals and it was down to the wire at the end. The Defense came up huge with Anderson and Coda tackling everything and everyone…I think they even hit a guy in the concession area! Defense gave Cincy a chance and it was a great return by Salvatore-Spencer and a clutch catch by Cartier that got Cincy in range to finally end this shoot out in the waning moments of overtime to end it.
Venus Flytrap: For some un-Godly reason, Angie wins Offensive Player of the Game honors, but we all know who the real hero was…Kenzi Grey for trolling Claire Rogers so hard that she vanished from social media all week long!
“Doctor” Johnny Fever: Well, yes…that was nice, but in the end it was a team effort and one person didn’t win it all! This is why you are getting tons of hate mail and I might have to send you one myself!
Venus Flytrap: Yeah, yeah! Well, this is as good a time as any to let you all know that I have agreed to do a face-to-face interview with Dix this week to finally settle things between us…once an for all!
“Doctor” Johnny Fever: Is security going to be there?
Venus Flytrap: She won’t need it, I promised not to kick her ass!
“Doctor” Johnny Fever: OKAY…whatever! That’s big news and I can’t wait to see how that turns out, but it’s on to today’s match up and it is a BIG one! The 8-1 Hit Girls visit the 6-2 Toronto Frost in a game that is sure to be just as intense as the one on Monday night. The Hit Girls are coming into hostile territory on a short week against a very good team riding high off a trouncing of the Muskrats. Couple that with the fact that Dixon’s condition is questionable, and Cincy is looking very vulnerable!
Venus Flytrap: I’ve already said it and I will say it again, this means that Angie should have an easier time. If Dix is on the sidelines, Roxy is going to feast and everything will be as it should be!
“Doctor” Johnny Fever: Well, I hope that Dixon is out there today, because Vaughn will need every weapon in her arsenal today. I’m Johnny and that’s Venus Flytrap, we will see you next time on, SHOTS FIRED!
