LIVE ...VIA SATELLITE FROM OHIO...
Kenzi Grey was dressed in her red Cincinnati Hit Girls football uniform, matted with dirt and grass stains from the game that had literally finished only minutes ago with her team finally picking up its first win of the season. Her teammates walked pass, slapping high fives as the camera finally zoomed in, focusing on her weary, yet elated face. She waved to the camera at all the fans and fighters that would see the video once it streamed to Union GP.
“Hey Union GP, it’s your girl Kenzi Grey and I am sorry to say that I could not make it to the press conference today to promote my lightweight bout against Hailey McIntyre tomorrow night at Boardwalk Hall. I got stuck in Cincinnati, but there was no way that I was going to miss a chance to talk to everyone about the show! Everyone knows how passionate I have been about being on the ground level of getting Union GP off to a tremendous start. I am proud to say that I think I played a pretty big role in that when Kaelan and I were the first to put on the fight of the night at UGP #1. We all showed the world that UGP was big time and we were all serious about competition!”
“As for me…I stumbled in my second fight at UGP #2 against Annie Zellor, losing in a decision…and that REALLY sucked! I can’t take anything away from Annie, she was ready and I didn’t get it done, but I am not a quitter. I fought to get into Union just like I fought to get a win on the gridiron today! I plan on reversing my fortunes inside the cage against Hailey, but I already know that will be tough sledding. Hailey has the size and power advantage over me and she recently reversed her fortunes at Boss Fight pulling out a slick armbar to get her first W. The odds may not be in my favor, but I am fighting for something that is a lot bigger than just getting back on the winning track…I am looking to put together a dream match!”
“Management was telling the fighters to look at opponents they might want to compete against and I have my eyes on the fight that I want…I want…STARFISH CARSON! Yeah, I know that she is part of the broadcast team and she’s not ‘signed to a contract’ to fight in the cage, but its obvious that she has beef with me after the comments she made after my first loss over social media. She wants this fight and so do I!”
“I’m not stupid, I know that she got that gig announcing because she’s obviously some sort of MMA legend…if she wasn’t, what would qualify her to talk about the fight game? I am going to have to earn my way to a fight of that magnitude…so my journey starts now…or actually…tomorrow…but you get it. I am going to hone my skills until Dante Reed decides I am ready to take on the Baddest Woman in UGP!”
“Hailey…you’re standing in the way of my dream fight…so I hope you’re ready! I’ll see you inside the cage at Atlantic City!”
Kenzi threw up the peace sign and gave a wink as the camera feed ended…
